NC Miata Gets Sparco Bucket Seats & NRG Quick Release Steering Wheel

This NC Mazda Miata came to Midnite Auto for a driver-focused interior upgrade: Sparco bucket seats, NRG race hub, and NRG quick release steering wheel.

The Sparco bucket seats aren’t just for looks. Compared with the factory Miata seats, they provide much better lateral support, keeping the driver planted during hard cornering instead of using the steering wheel to hold themselves in place.

Proper bucket seat installation is also about seating position. Bracket fitment, seat height, slider operation, steering-wheel clearance, and hardware all matter—especially in a small cockpit like the NC Miata.

We also installed an NRG race hub and quick release steering wheel setup. Combined with the bucket seats, the smaller race-style steering wheel creates a much more focused and connected driving position.

Because the factory steering wheel contains an airbag, an aftermarket steering wheel conversion also changes the original SRS safety system and needs to be understood before installation.

No horsepower added—yet the car feels completely different from the driver’s seat.

Sometimes the best performance upgrade is simply improving the connection between driver, seat, steering wheel, and chassis.
